Rules for borrowing at the Frederikssund Libraries.

How to become a borrower

You can register as a borrower at the library. This requires that you present valid identification such as a
passport, health card, or driver's license, or register yourself via MitID on the library's website or the
'Biblioteket' app.

Children under the age of 18 years old can also be registered as borrowers. This requires them to bring a
completed consent form from the legal guardian. The form for the declaration can be obtained at the library
or downloaded/filled out on the library's website www.bibliotekerne.frederikssund.dk

For individuals without a CPR number, a deposit is required when registering as a borrower. When all
materials are returned, the library will refund the deposit. This assumes that you have no outstanding
financial obligations with the library.

Loan

Borrowing is free. The loan period is usually 31 days, but for selected materials, the loan period may be
shorter. This will be indicated on the material as well as on your loan receipt.
Borrowed materials must be returned to the staff or the automated return machine.
Your borrowing privileges are personal, and you are responsible for items borrowed under your name.

Fees

If materials are not returned on time, adults over the age of 18 years old must pay a fee.

Replacement of materials

If you lose or damage library materials, you must replace them. The replacement price is the price the
library paid for the material plus 50 DKK for processing the material for library use.
Due to copyright laws, films and games are very expensive for the library to purchase and therefore also
expensive to replace. The same applies to multi-volume works or materials with multiple components, where
the library may have to require the entire work to be replaced if individual parts cannot be obtained.
The library will refund the replacement amount if the replaced material is found undamaged within one
month from the date of replacement payment.

Exclusion from borrowing

You may lose the right to borrow if you owe the library more than 230 DKK in fees.
Exclusion from borrowing occurs with a written notice of 10 days.
The exclusion ends when the total amount of overdue fees is paid.

Order

The library is open for everyone. Users who do not respect peace and order or do not follow the staff's
instructions may be expelled from the library for a period of time.

Personal data

The library's privacy policy is available on the library's website. There, you can read about the information
we store about you in the library system.
